Senior Electronic Engineer
Diego Barone received the M.Sc. degree in electronic engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 2004. Since 2014 he is with the Biorobotics Institute. He is working on INAIL PPR3 project, developing hardware / software control systems for robotic prosthesis, sensors, and human-machine interfacing. Barone has been founder and manager of NTA Elettronica srl company until 2011, achieving large experience in designing of electronic systems (micro-controllers or FPGAs based, measurement and conditioning systems, power units, motor drivers, battery controllers, ISA/PCI devices, CAN/Ethercat/Modbus/Profibus transceiver) for industrial and naval sectors. He obtained 3 industrial patents. Then he has been R&D manager for IGM srl company and worked for OTO Melara, MBDA, AnsaldoBreda, GE Transportation, Thales Alenia Space. He designed and built test equipment, control systems, data interfaces, human-machine interface, power units for rail, defence and space sectors (his systems are used by Italian Navy, Italian Army, FS railways, Hong Kong Metro, European Space Agency).
