About Me: 

Carmen was born in Maddaloni (CE), Italy, in 1984. She received her degree in Biomedical Engineering (with honours) from the Campus Bio-Medico of Rome in December 2007 and her PhD in Biorobotics at The BioRobotics Institute (Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna) in April 2012 . The title of her PhD thesis was "Miniaturized vision systems for diagnosis and surgery."

Her main research interests are in the fields of biorobotics, endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery.
She is working on the design and system integration of vision systems for endoscopy and surgery. In addition, Carmen is also active in the fields of vision system for cardiovascular appllications.
