The aims of the course are twofold. Firstly, it intends to revise some of the more difficult grammar points students encounter when using the present tenses, past tenses, future tenses, modals, conditional tenses, gerunds/infinitives, passive voice and reported speech. Practical activities that make students think and solve problems will fix grammar structures and rules in their minds. Secondly, the course intends to teach the specific techniques needed to be competent at narrating, analyzing, hypothesizing, describing, giving reasons, persuading, evaluating, making recommendations, giving information and summarizing. These techniques can be taught effectively through models of formal letters, proposals, reviews, essays, reports, articles, information sheets, covers letters, resumes and reference letters which are supported with revision of the necessary grammatical structures and lexical items.
The syllabus is designed for use in a 25-hour course that meets twice a week (two two-hour morning sessions) for six weeks.
The course may be suspended during the SCUOLA GRUPPO NAZINALE BIOINGENGERIA A BRESSANONE
